SofIANE Laridi

Doctoral Research Scientist

Primary Co-advisor: Prof. Dr. Kam-Ming Mark Tam

Sofiane Laridi graduated with a Master's degree in Intelligent Mobile Systems from the University of Batna in Algeria and another Master's degree in Internet Technologies & Information Systems from TU Braunschweig in Germany. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD at the University of Hannover in Germany. Sofiane develops methods to optimise the deployment of Federated Learning (FL), a Machine Learning (ML) approach that aggregates insights from distributed data sources without requiring the raw data to be centralised. This technique enhances privacy and security by keeping data on local devices while only sharing model updates. His work aims to push the boundaries of FL to support practical applications in various domains, including architecture, where it may facilitate collaboration and knowledge aggregation from distributed users.
